We are delighted to announce that we have received £69,925 over three years from The National Lottery for The Nurturing Families Programme.
The Nurturing Families Programme is an early intervention approach which is both reparative and preventative, with the focus on the relationship between caregiver and child. The programme is based on three fundamental concepts:
· The vital role secure attachment continues to play throughout the lifespan to ensure successful development.
· The efficacy of parent/carer delivered support and therapeutic intervention focused on the needs of the child.
· The indispensable role of play as the basis for children’s healing and progress.
The programme is especially designed for parents and carers from the perinatal phase upwards who wish to strengthen their attachment relationship with their babies or young children, and who may be having difficulties establishing the fundamental bonds which underpin family life and children’s development. It is delivered by BAPT accredited Play Therapists specifically trained in Filial Therapy, Mentalisation therapy and Infant Mental Health.
